GUARARAPES INAUGURATES A NEW BRL 1 BILLION PLANT

Guararapes started operating the new MDF line, in Caçador (SC), with an investment of R$ 1 billion. With this, the company, which already has two other lines installed at the site, expands its production capacity by 90%, rising to 1.140 million m³/year. It is the largest MDF site in the Americas and one of the most competitive in the world.

“This moment is a milestone for us and for the sector, and reinforces our position among the main players in the segment. We will offer an even more complete portfolio, both for the domestic and export markets. And of course, always focusing on customer service”, celebrates Ricardo Pedroso, CEO of Guararapes. The company is present in more than 50 countries.

Guararapes expects to grow at least 15% in net revenue in 2023. “We are optimistic, we hope to reap good results. We have one of the most modern plants in the world, with state-of-the-art equipment, highly productive, flexible and sustainable”, details Pedroso.

The new production line will generate 280 direct and 650 indirect jobs. During construction, more than 700 people worked on the construction site.
