Forest Startup Conecta is an initiative jointly developed by Embrapa Florestas, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Malinovski Group, with the aim of connecting startups with partners, investors and customers, to enable business in the forestry sector. Forest Startup Conecta promoted the 1st Expoforest Startups Award in the Forestry Plantations Sector, with the aim of promoting innovative ideas for the sector.

Malinovski, Embrapa Florestas and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock congratulate all the Startups participating in the 1st Expoforest Startups Award in the Forestry Plantations Sector, held by Forest Startup Conecta, for the high quality of the technologies presented. The institutions thank the Supporters and Evaluators and highlight the emphasis they gave to the extremely high level of the proposals.
The Prize will take place on 08/08/2023, involving Expoforest and the technical events: 5th Brazilian Forestry Meeting and 19th Seminar on Harvesting and Transport of Wood. The public of these events is 1000 specialized professionals, with representatives of companies in the sector. At Expoforest, 40,000 visitors from different countries are expected, highlighting the strong participation of companies with high interest and resources to leverage startups.
The objective of the Award is to identify and promote the visibility of startups, collaborating so that innovative technological solutions (products and processes) meet demands and enable new businesses in the Brazilian forest-based sector associated with trees planted in monocultures and in crop-livestock-forestry integration (ILPF), in order to make production chains more efficient.
Startups that are open in Brazil, with Technologies framed in any TRL/MRL maturity level (TRL/MRL Technological Maturity Scale - Embrapa Portal) may participate.

The selected Technologies will make up the Portfolio “Forest Startup Conecta – Technologies with high potential for contributions to the forestry sector”, with wide dissemination in the forestry sector, in order to promote visibility for partners and potential customers. They will also receive a Finalist Certificate and be featured in Technical Events, at Expoforest and in the organizers’ media.
The three best ranked Technologies for each of the categories, General and Students, will receive Trophies of recognition in the final block of Technical Events.
A Technology, which has a woman in charge, will receive from the organization Rede Mulher Florestal the trophy “Outstanding Startup Mulher Florestal”.
