Jacto, a Brazilian multinational of agricultural machines, solutions and services, presents for the first time the autonomous sprayer Arbus 4000 JAV with new specifications for the forestry market. Equipped with an 18-meter boom and a 4,000-liter reservoir, the vehicle performs spraying without the need for an operator working on the machine in person.

The interactive control of the equipment is carried out through a console that can be in the hand of the person responsible for the operation. The technology makes it possible to work with more than one “JAV” at the same time, with the train function, virtual alignment of machines and individual configuration of tasks for each vehicle.

Another feature of the self-contained forest sprayer is intelligent obstacle detection. This means that the JAV will stop automatically when it identifies an obstacle, leaving the person responsible for the operation to decide whether or not to proceed further.

In economic terms, the Arbus 4000 JAV sprayer offers automatic section cutting, that is, it automatically turns spraying on and off when entering and leaving the field or when passing through a point where there has already been application. In this way, the farmer achieves greater product savings.

The 132 hp diesel engine, combined with the independent suspension system, makes it possible to work at higher speeds and more durability for the chassis. Another highlight of the vehicular technology is the UNITRACK rear steering system, which allows operating with a smaller turning radius, reducing the time to maneuver in the carriers, consequently increasing the operational yield in hectares per hour.

“With this new specification of the autonomous sprayer, Jacto reinforces its performance in technologies for autonomous operations. The company already has the Arbus 4000 JAV for citrus and other perennial crops and is now entering the forestry segment,” says Fabio Torres, business manager at Jacto Next, Jacto’s digital services area.

The equipment is in the validation phase, which is a stage in which not only the vehicle is evaluated in terms of design, but also the suitability of the technology to the reality of operations in forests is verified. Only after the approval of this stage, the Arbus 4000 JAV, with these new specifications, will start to be produced in larger scales and will be available to the market with an unprecedented commercialization model in the form of a subscription. “It works as a complete solution for application, monitoring of the spraying operation and state-of-the-art vehicle technology, with transformative gains based on information collected both by the machine and the environment”, adds Torres.
