Exports from Mato Grosso do Sul in January 2023 increase 7.17% compared to the same period last year, closing at US$ 565.46 million. The result was driven by foreign sales of corn, cellulose, beef, poultry and vegetable oils, according to data in the External Sector Conjuncture Letter of January/2023, released by the Secretariat for the Environment, Development, Science, Technology and Innovation.
After corn, the product with the highest share was cellulose, responsible for 23.59% of the total value and which had an increase of 23.08% compared to January 2022.
The main destination for exports from Mato Grosso do Sul is China. Purchases made by the country represented 27.13% of the total value exported by the state. The two main ports for shipping products from Mato Grosso do Sul are: Paranaguá (in Paraná state), with 38.65% of operations, and Santos (in São Paulo state), with 29.65%.
The main exporting municipality was Três Lagoas, around 34.06% of the exported values, driven by the production of paper and cellulose.
