Starting in March, the Logistics and Support Center of the National Center for Preventing and Combating Forest Fires, in Brasília (Federal District), began operating. The delivery of the installations is part of the Amazon Fund’s support to the National Center for the Prevention and Combat of Forest Fires – Prevfogo, the main federal structure in the country with operations, both in the direct fight against forest fires and unauthorized burnings, and in inducing changes in the culture of the use of fire in agriculture. Supported by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) to improve Prevfogo’s ability to monitor and respond to fires, the logistics center was installed at Ibama’s headquarters.
