NEW PROJECT FORESEE INVESTMENT OF US$ 4 BILLION IN BRAZIL

Businessman Jackson Wijaya, founder of Paper Excellence and shareholder of Eldorado Celulose, was with Brazilian authorities in New York, on May 10, accompanied by the CEO of the company in Brazil, Claudio Cotrim. Wijaya spoke about his plans to make new strategic investments in the country, in addition to the construction of the new Eldorado Celulose production line, already planned for Mato Grosso do Sul.

“We have plans to invest 4 billion dollars in a new project in Brazil for 2.5 million tons of cellulose”, revealed Jackson Wijaya at the meeting. Paper is still studying the best region for the new investment, which will generate more than 2,500 direct jobs, not to mention the indirect ones that will be generated during the work.

At the meeting, Wijaya also commented on socio-environmental responsibility and global initiatives for the ESG strategy and decarbonization in each region of operation. Since its creation in 2006, Paper Excellence has been making recurring environmental investments and operational improvements in its facilities. Recently received the BC Cleantech Awards 2023, in Canada, for its innovations in the clean and sustainable energy segments. Currently, 96% of the group’s electricity consumption is renewable and 100% of forestry operations are internationally certified.

Paper Excellence is in four countries: Canada, United States, France and Brazil, with 60 factories and more than 21 thousand employees around the world.
