EXPOFOREST WITH THEM: GET TO KNOW MARIANA LISBÔA’S TRAJECTORY

Mariana Lisbôa, still small, dreamed of conquering her independence and financial freedom. This big dream was inspired by the trajectory of her grandfather, Rubem Nogueira, who played an important role in encouraging her life and professional career.

In an interview with the Rede Mulher Florestal portal, the attorney from Salvador told about her responsibility in the internationalization strategy of Suzano, the largest eucalyptus pulp producer in the world, and recalled her personal and professional trajectory. Mariana is also the first woman to hold the presidency of the Bahia Association of Forest Based Companies (ABAF).

Many people who admire her see her as an example of a dream achieved. The paths that led her to professional achievement, however, were marked by unexpected and challenging events. Mariana got pregnant and started to dedicate herself to her marriage and her daughter, facts that trampled her professional rise as initially planned.

A phone call came to change his life. On the other end of the line was a friend who proposed to Mariana the opportunity of a vacancy in the environmental legal department of a company. “I soon informed her that I knew nothing about environmental law. She just replied: ‘Hey, but do you know English? That’s enough’. And as I usually say, I was chosen by Environmental Law”, she commented.

The corporate world opened doors for Mariana, who, in a short period of time, received an invitation to start in a regional manager position at Suzano, in Mucuri, in the extreme south of Bahia.
