Even though Expoforest 2018 is still months away, preparations for the fair have already begun
Five days of work. Machines operating 24 hours a day. 2.2 thousand liters of fuel used. 50 hours of cutting at an average of 700 trees per hour. Nearly 35.5 thousand trees cut, 27 hectares out of 200 hectares of planted eucalyptus forest offered by International Paper for the fairgrounds of Expoforest 2018. Thus, the preparations for the fair began honoring the fourth edition’s motto: The Extreme Forestry Fair.
The next Expoforest takes place in April, 2018, but the trails, parking, static, and dynamic silviculture areas are already ready for the next steps – namely, destumping and land levelling. “Organizing one of the most complex fairs in Brazil is a demanding task, requiring great logistic planning by the organizers, especially when it comes to preparing the dynamic areas,” says Jorge R. Malinovski, the Expoforest general director.
The only dynamic forestry fair in Latin America already has more than 70 confirmed exhibitors. According to the organizers, early participation allows companies to better organize and plan their product launches accordingly for the 2018 event. “Moreover, we have already arranged a visiting schedule. Soon, the exhibitors will be able to visit the fairgrounds and plan their actions on site,” explains Malinovski.
