TRACBEL AND TIGERCAT WILL BE HIGHLIGHTS FOR HARVESTING OPERATIONS

Tracbel and Tigercat are launching two new equipment for the forestry sector, making the brand’s portfolio even more complete in the Brazilian market. The companies are presenting the new TH 534 head and the new 6500 chipper (grinder/chipper), two advanced and robust products developed to increase productivity in the field. “Once again we are bringing the most modern, efficient and reliable equipment for harvesting planted forests. Brazil is an important global player in this segment and local industries need the best in the market”, declares Cairon Faria, director of the division Tracbel forestry.

Tracbel is the national distributor of the Tigercat brand, a Canadian manufacturer of heavy equipment. “These products are internationally recognized for their high level of embedded technology and great robustness”, says Cleber Carvalho, CEO of Tracbel’s machinery division.

The TH 534 is Tigercat’s latest addition to the CTL harvesting system. The harvesting head is a three-roller, triangulated arm design. With four movable knives and fixed front and rear knives, this technology ensures exceptional debarking quality.

“The efficient hydraulic system can be tuned for optimum performance with the Volvo EC220DLF base machine or the Tigercat 1165 wheeled harvester,” explains Faria. He recalls that the TH 534 is the first harvesting head to utilize Tigercat’s new D7 control system. The user interface is simple and intuitive, presented on a large 305 millimeter touchscreen. In addition, the system offers several levels of production reports.

The other major launch is the Tigercat 6500 chipper, which can be configured as a grinder or chipper as required by the operation. The model was designed to maximize the productivity of the operation and meet the different needs in the field. “Brazil has one of the highest rates of forest productivity originating from planted forests, with several products destined for export. Our customers are very professional and deserve to receive the latest technologies in the industry”, says Luiz Gustavo Rocha, CEO of Grupo Tracbel.

In total, Tracbel will exhibit 12 machines in its stand of more than 20,000 m². Technicians, consultants, after-sales personnel and the entire commercial area will be available to customers and other visitors to answer questions about the equipment. To present the launches, several dynamic demonstrations will be made that show in practice the benefits of new technologies.
